Obstacles in My Way…
“What are the greatest obstacles to the fulfillment of my dreams and goals?”
Well, my goal is to to do something in the Performance Arts, like singing or acting. I have been singing for well, my whole life, and acting since 5th grade. (Started with those Colors Of Character Plays…..*shiver*) I really want to stick with singing and acting throughout my life because I enjoy every minute of it, and music is my life. Though, there are obstacles in my way of fullfilling this dream. Since we’re in middleschool, theres not much of acting I can do, except for the plays and musicals we do. Last year, I did the Music Man, and the Murder Mystery, and in 6th grade, I had a bunch of parts in the Pops concert play. Still, its only middle school, and they aren’t really big things, but still i love acting. Singing, now thats a different story. Like I said, i’ve been singing forever, and been in chorus’ since the 4th grade. Then, at the end of 6th grade, I tryed out for Chamber Choir(Which is like an advanced choir, we do more difficult songs and learn teqniques…ok you get the point..) And I made it! I was really glad I did, too. I have so many friends there(including last years 8th graders, now 9th, they were awesome) and we all have a blast! Its awesome to learn new things and the songs we sing are fun and challenging. Still, that has obstacles too. Ms. B has really helped me along the way, and when I get into highschool, hopefully there will be someone there to help me too, though I never know. Ms. B has one opinion, and other music teachers have theirs, so actually, teachers are proabablly my biggest obstacle for singing, along with stage frieght. I can sing duets and in groups and whatnot, but I can’t sing by myself, infront of big crowds, haha. I will sing by myself, if there aren’t too many people, but a lot, ill freak out. So, stage frieght and teachers are the two biggest obstacles. And In acting, probably I need to go to acting school, and do a lot of studying. Ms. B has helped me a lot with my acting too, and has given me great pointers and advice, which has helped me a lot. I need to overcome my stage frieght for singing, but I love being on stage for acting. And I need to find good schools and helpful things to help me become a better actor.
