I.T.S/Amano? What….?

amano_logo.gifWe were asked to ask a company a question of our choice. Well, since my dad some sorta manager (Ill explain later) for this company, I thought I would just ask him. I chose this company he works at, called Amano. It was originally names I.T.S, for Industrial Time and Systems Inc, but they were sold or something and the name changed… Anyways. I kind of knew what he did, but wasn’t entirely sure of what it was. I asked him this question…
“Why did you choose to join this company, and what do you do?”
He answered

“I wanted to be involved in a family run business that was growing and I could help it move in the right direction for growth.”

“I am the purchasing/warehouse inventory control manager.”

I decided to ask this question because I really wanted to know a little more about his job.  Check out this link to learn more!!  http://www.industrialtime.com/

“Person to person is the…”

Right now, we are listening to our current mayor of our small town, Mayor Dickenson. One of many things he has said, is ‘Person to person is the most important communication.” I think this is an important message he said. My first reaction was, ‘no wonder he is mayor’. This was a really good thing for him to say, and I agree with him. Preson to person IS the most important communication because that is how we adapt to others. If there are two people who never talk to one another, they wont become good communicators with eachother as if two people who always talk with have good communication between them. I felt like going up to him afterward and saying how much I liked what he said, but of course I was either too scared, or he left before I got the chance. (I think it was both, actually) This was a really cool expiriance to be able to listen to the interview and be able to see it happen. Also very cool about the disscusion on the Wiki that we could ask questions from there. Good job to whoever asked what type of communication was important….because that was the quote I used! “Person to Person communication is the most important communication.”….sheesh its so good!

Blog post…On A Blog post..

  hedwig1.jpg

Yes, makes sense doesn’t it? Well, actually it does….. So, again we were asked to do a blog post about something. This time, another blog. I tried to come up with things, starting with penguins, of course. But nothing was really interesting. Next, I was looking at my desk, and saw a calculator! So, I tried that, but again nothing really interested me. Again, I looked around and saw my guitar! Searched that, but it only said things about how to play, not really interesting. Then, almost giving up for the night, I looked at my Harry Potter Shelf( Please, dont ask) and saw Hedwig! I made Hedwig in plastics, and he’s awesome. SO! I searched blogs about Hedwig, and yes! Came across a blog about Harry Potter Owls. A read a few of them, and came across Hedwigs pages. After reading it, I knew this was the blog I needed to do my post on!
***Warning, this contains spoilers, but seriously, if you haven’t read the last book by now, you obviously probably could care less, so go right ahead and read!***

Ok, so I thought this was a good blog. It explained how the writer felt about Hedwig(Harry’s Snowy Owl) and what happened to her in the last book. I learned that I agreed with how Hedwig died should have been changed. At first, I was OK, of course sad. But now reading it, it made me realize there are better ways for her to die, and ways that she should have died.

“If JKR wanted to kill the owl in that first battle to make sure readers knew how serious this war would be (as Spielberg did with the golden retriever getting offed in Jaws), she could have had Harry release her to Hogwarts when the seven Potters left the Dursley’s house, and the released Hedwig could have turned around when Voldemort was pursuing Harry, sink her talons into his wand arm while he was aiming, and go down in a blaze of glory trying to save her boy, rather than as an impotent prisoner reduced to a pile of singed feathers at the bottom of a cage.”

Like I said, I totally agree with her and learned that she should have died in a better way. It is important to realize this, because knowing JRK, she is always coming up with creative way of doing certain things. But this time, she just let Hedwig….well…die in a plain way.
Like I said, this blog was really cool, and stated some things I didn’t know before (surprsingly) about Harry Potter and his trusty Owl, Hedwig. If you like Hedwig, or any other owls of the Harry Potter World , check this blog out at
this place.
hedwig.jpg   I left this person a comment saying
“I love this blog! It has a bunch of things I didn’t know about Hedwig, and I totally agree with you about how she died. There are so many other ways for he to die, but JKR made it simple. Im checking out the other posts about the other owl…..Pig is definetly next! Keep up the great job!”
Here is the link for the blog main page thing. It has a description of all the owls, and facts about them in real life…Like the type of owl. Click here to view.

Why Don’t We Dream of a White Christmas Anymore??

snowflake.jpgOk, so again Mr. Bogush asked us to do a post about something. (Obviously) But this time it was on the enviroment. I tryed going to the sites from pbogush.edublogs.org, but they didn’t work, so I didn’t know what the post was supposed to be about. Then, he said just do a post about the enviroment. SO! I had a bunch of thoughts in mind, but i decided to research just a little bit to get an idea of something. Then it hit me. Globalwarming! I came across the NationalGeographic site, and it talks about Globalwarming and how the enviroment is changing. So…thats what this post is about….that dang globalwarming that everyone hates. No more wild snow storms or feet of snow….
Glaciers melting, seas rising, cloud forests drying, wildlife trying to keep pace…why?? Well, thats globalwarming for ya. The “GreenHouse Affect” is warming that happens when gases in Earths atmosphere trap heat. The gases are letting in light, but keeping heat from escaping. The heat gets absorbed, and stays inside the atmosphere, making the temperature rise. Im sure were all pretty mad because, well, we dont get a lot of snow anymore. We have our good storms and times where it snows so much, but it doesn’t stick to the ground. We still get snow, but not as much as we used to. (Thank you, Globalwarming) Now, obviously, changes im temperature are normal, but in the colder seasons, its been warmer than usuall, causing glaciers to melt and seas to rise, causing animals to struggle to survive.
As the mercury rises, the climate can have unexpected changes. With unexpected changes, the weather can become more extreme. Scientists have been seeing these changes occuring more quickly then they should. According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change, 11 of the 12 most hottest thermomator readings have been between 1995 and 2006.
So, the reason for higher seas, wild weather, hotter temperatures, less snow…..Globalwarming. Globalwarming is behind all of it, so we should thank ourselves for uses so many fossilfuels and gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere, causing Globalwarming to occur. Thank you Globalwarming, and Thank you, us.

Not An Ordrinary Class…..

Ok, so Mr. Bogush has asked us to write a post about something we know nothing about. (Yea I know, the easiest thing to write about, right?) So…I started of think things I know OF, but not ABOUT.
Then I remembered my sister talking about this class she is taking at college.  It is called Deaf Linguistics. I had no idea what type of class this was, so I decided to research it. It turns out, its actually pretty cool.
Linguistics is the scientific study of a language. Someone who engages this subject is called a linguist. Then, I talked to my sister about the class. She said that the teacher is in the front of the class, and uses sign language. Then someone is usually beside her or off to the side somewhere translating for the class. They learn all about sign language, what its like to be deaf, about the deaf community and its culture. She says its one of her most interesting classes she is taking.

Sad…But Interesting…..

When I found out that we had to do this podcast assignment, I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal and would help me since I just got an IPod for an early birthday present, and it would help me discover ITunes more. Well, it partially helped. I got the hang of things, but finding a podcast that interested me was difficult. I searched many things and sometimes they didn’t work (Im still new at this ITunes thing). After a while, I gave up on ITunes and searched on Google interesting podcasts and finnaly came upod one that i liked.  The link on Google brought me to the National Geographic website, with a podcast section. I browsed through them, and found one that had made me have to listen to it. It was so interesting and exciting that I think im going to subscribe to it on ITUnes.
This podcast including information from around the world that could interest anyone. One story I was hurt. They told about how 10,000 wildabeasts drowned eachother while crossing a river in Kenya during their migration. A few didn’t make it across, and then they just piled eachother, drowning one another. 10,000. Can you believe it? All in a matter of a few days. They said it was about 3% of their population that died. In another story, they talked about how they found ancient, intact DNS mammoth hair that could be from 50,000 years ago. They found this extrodinary piece of DNA in Northern Siberia. They even talked briefly about how plants talk! This really got me excited because I had no idea what they were talking about. But then, they said how if a catipilar came along and started to eat a strawberry plant(I think they said strawberry…), the plant would send a chemical to the next to warn them about the catipilar. The next plant would makes the leaves unhealthy and what not to make the catipilar not interested. This is kind of like Instant Messageing, but with plants. National Geographic podcasts are very interesting, and I learned many new things from it. Of course, I left a comment to them about how I loved their podcast, and hopefully they keep up the good work!
You can check this podcast out and more at
http://www.nationalgeographic.com/podcasts/
(I listened to the Oct. 5th one..) I wasn;t sure how to put a ‘verbatim’ of the comment I sent, but I did tell them how much I loved learning about all the interesting facts they said from around the world and hope to listen to more.

Style of Blogging- Meme Blog

Yes yes I no I did another on like this, but I heard this the other day and thought it would make a great question for a post!
“If you could ask yourself the question, ‘How Do You Want To Be Remembered’, what would you say?”

There were sooo many things I could have put for this, but they all kinda linked together. I would say I want to be remembered for always daring to be different. Like I have said in previous posts, I have my own ’style’ you can say, own way to live life, and trying to make the best outta everything. I really started to not be a ‘clone’ in 6th grade. I mean, I was never a clone, but like ‘normal’(if there even is a word for normal). So in 6th grade, I had bought these white chucks(Converses) and imediatly thought ‘I can make these into something’. So that night as soon as I got home I grabbed my sharpies and started designing. When they were done, it needed more, so I grabbed my glitter glue. (I have come realllly close to my glitter glue….) They were really awesome, and I wear them all the time I can. My teacher, Mr. Fil at the time, said I should ‘go into a shoe design buisness’, haha. Since them, anything white or too plain i HAVE to glitterfy it or sharpify it, I cant stand anything being plain, so that’s why I like being myself. Last year, i got this white purse thingymabob because I got glasses, and I was freaking out because it was white and my sharpies were dying (Hmmm i wonder why?). But I found new ones and sharpied away! Then, of course, over the summer we were joking about all of us dying our hair while we were in NH. Well, when we got back here, I really wanted to do it, so we did! Im soo ‘unique’ that I have come to a conclusion that people can say things about me, but I could care less because I love being myself and making sure nothing is plain. Even the other day I was bored and found an old pair of jeans and got out my glitter glue. Didnt turn out so bad, so I wore them today.  Im always wearing something thats ‘me’, and I wouldn’t be caught dead in one of those ‘Abercrombie’ or ‘Hollister’ stores. Psssh I make my own style of clothing and im just fine with the way the all come out. I love daring to be different because a bunch of my friends are always wearing Abercrombie or whatever and try to get me to go shopping with them. Its a challenge to say no, but I wouldn’t be able to stand going into one of those stores that have made teens into clones. I mean just looking around at lunch one day. You will find at least 3 or 4 girls wearing the EXACT same shirt, and its soo annoying. Can’t you guys ever wear anything different? I guess not because the next day 4 more girls will be wearing the same shirt, and so on and so on. AND!! Those ‘handbag purses things’ whatever they are from Ambercrombie. Practically every girl has one. It started with a few, then grew and grew to others! Its madness how many people have those!    Yea, I dare to be different, and I like doing it.

Its A Bird, Its A Plane, No..Its Mr. Poppers Penguins!!

 penguins.jpg

Haha! Finnaly I have gotten to posting this blog. Soooo many of you guys keep asking me why I like penguins so much and well, here it is.
This whole thing started in third grade. We had to get into reading groups and decide on a book to read with our group. Our group had no intention of reading any of the books because they sounded dumb or something. (I know, I know, dont judge a book by its cover…I was in 3rd grade!! Give me a break!) SO, our teacher picked a book for us, called Mr. Poppers Penguins. Of course, we all groaned and moaned because none of us really wanted ot read it. Then after a few days of reading, we all actually got into the book and really liked it. It was about one man called Mr. Popper who loved to learn about the Antarctic. One day, he is sent a penguin in an icebox, and more and more penguins keep coming. He and his family take care of all of them, and start teaching them tricks. They are soon know as  ’Poppers Perfoming Penguins’, and perform on stages all around. I fell in love with penguins ever since this book. I laughed everytime they performed and all the time throughout the book. The penguins were a lot of fun, so cute, witty, clumsy, smart, funny, everything a penguin sometimes usually isn’t, haha. (If that makes sense…..) Well, to understand more, you would have to read this book. So, yea i just fell in love with them adn started collecting everything penguin. Then, I think in either 2001, or 2003, (who knows, maybe 2004) March of the Penguins came out in the movies. It told the story of how penguisn must survive and raise their younge, which are sooooo cute! It is a documentry, but a good one. Then, in 2006, Happy Feet came out, telling the story of how one penguin has to fit in because hes ‘different’. He gets captured by ‘aliens’ then tells the other penguins about the aliens, but no one believes him. It was such a cute movie, including singing and dancing. Everyone loved it! Then, over the summer, another movie called Surfs Up came out. Wow, penguins are taking over the movies!!! This movie was really cute too, escpecially all the little penguins. Surfing penguins, whats better than that?! Anyways, penguins are jsut soo cute, and have funny personalitys, and I just Love them!!!
