All Hallows Eve
So my question for you is this:What is your fovorite holiday and what are some traditions you have?
My Favorite holiday is definitely Halloween. This is the one night where we can dress up as the most random things and people can’t do anything about it. Plus, we get candy! Every year when I was younger, I would always go around my neighborhood with my sister and we would have costumes that went with each other. For example, one year I went as Mario and she went as Luigi because we love playing Mario. For recent years, I have always been going out with a bunch of my friends. Last year, we all went as Harry Potter characters. I was Tonks, and my friends were Luna, Hermione, and Cho. That was a year to remember. I love dressing up as people and having a great time with my friends while getting candy.

So my question for you is this:What is your fovorite holiday and what are some traditions you have?
She’ll Be Coming Around the Corner When She Comes….
Where on Earth has this year gone to? Just yesterday we were sitting in the auditorium listening to our teachers give us a speech about how the year is going to be, and today I finished up the last concert I will ever do for Moran! Everything we all have been through this year has created things we will never forget. 3 years gone by already. 3! This year, we are/were the big fish in a small pond. Next year, we are the small fish in a big pond. Can you believe our middle school memories are almost over!?
What I Do….
Short and quick blog tonight!
Question-
List 3 activities are you involved in after school?
Which one is your favourite? and why?
1) Acting/Theater/Drama (Whichever you feel like calling it)
2) Mentoring Kids with disabilities (Such as Down Syndrome….)
3) Reading. I loooove to read….although most kids dont….then again im not like most kids….
My Favorite? Thats actually a tough question because I absolutely love doing all of these. I would have to say……acting. I love to act, it is my life. A bunch of my close friends act also and we all love being wacky on stage and love hearing the applause at the end of every show.
I Dream of Pumpkins….
Do you ever have one of those dreams, that you really don’t know what it means until you remember or think about something, then your mind goes “Ahhhh I get it!” Well, I was recently asked what the most precious item in my life was, and well, I had this dream about it. -Enter DreamLand…….- *Plays flashback music*
I was sitting at my computer desk writing this very blog post about what the most precious thing in my life was. Strangely, the only thing I can remember from the dream is that I wrote about a pumpkin, and had a picture of a pumpkin on the post. -Exit DreamLand- Alright, so I have been thinking all day on what this could mean. Of course, I could be seeing into the future and see me writing this very same blog about a pumpkin dream, or the pumpkin could be representing something bigger. I thought, and I thought, and I thought, and finally came up with what that pumpkin could be representing. It must be representing my sister. No, she’s not orange or can be found in a pumpkin patch, but every year, I would always go pumpkin picking with her in the fall, carve out the pumpkins with her, and go trick-or-treating with her. When I think about it, I don’t know how I could live without my sister, therefore she must be the most precious thing in my life. Yeah, its kinda corny but when you really think about it, I don’t know what I would do without her. She’s always been there for me no matter what, supported me with whatever I did, and gave me advice when I was in trouble. We’ve been on wild adventures, done crazy things, think alike, and were just nuts. I’d have to blame her for really getting me into the obsessiveness of Harry Potter, but we kinda got each other into it. I don’t see her that often since she is now in college, but I talk, text, and chat online with her almost every week. Our conversations are always so random, but it’s actually quite normal to us. I don’t know what I would do without my sister, she really is the most precious thing in my life I cannot live without. Shes my sister, my pumpkin.
How Is CT So Great? Well…
We were recently asked to answer some questions about where we live.
1) What is the best thing about where you live?

I think the best thing about living in CT is that we probably have the best weather anyone can ask for. We have all 4 seasons and nothing is ever so severe. Of course, temperatures in the summer reach some all time highs, but nothing so bad. Fall is great because all the leaves are changing colors and the temperature is starting to drop. Winter is a lot of fun with all the snow we get, but we haven’t gotten a blizzard in years thanks to global warming (thanks) . Then spring comes around. Leaves start to grow back on the trees, flowers grow, and the weather has perfect temperature and beautiful days. The weather here is absolutely amazing, and I think by-far the best in the country. Spring is the best season in my opinion because its not so cold like winter, and not too warm like summer. Fall is kind of like Spring, but I think its colder.
2) Our school is unique because we are the only school in our area that has the use of technology in schools. We are the only bloggers that blog on a weekly basis, and the only school that has a wiki that is so popular around the world. Thanks to Mr. B, this is why we are doing this right now. I would have never have thought of using technology in school. Our team is so unique in many different ways, mostly thanks to Mr. B. He is very unique in his own way and makes his class so interesting so we aren’t bored and actually learn instead of just sitting in a classroom taking notes from the board and having a quiz next class. I mean, thats so boring. It’s always a new surprise when you walk into Mr. B’s classroom every day.
Oh the Thinks You Can Think! (When You Think About Seuss!)

Oh, the thinks you can think
Think and wonder and dream
Far and wide as you dare…
When your thinks have run dry
In the blink of an eye
There’s another world there.
If you open your mind
Oh, the thinks you will find
Lining up to get loose
Oh, the thinks you can think..When you think about Seuss!
I was waiting outside the auditorium, waiting for them to call my name so I can audition. Trying to stay calm all the while trying to remember my song I had to sing. They call my name, and I started to walk down the side aisle up to the stage. What do I do as soon as I get about halfway down the aisle? I fall flat on my face.
Wow! Where did the last 5 months go? It seems like just yesterday, a bunch of us were waiting outside the auditorium, waiting for our named to be called to go up to the stage and sing our audition song in front of a bunch of teachers. Just yesterday we did our final show! This has definitely been one of the most enjoyable expiriences of my life. Hanging around with all of my friends, doing what we do best, going nuts and singing on stage….
It all started at the end of last year during one of my lessons. Ms. B was working with someone and she told me to go and listen to the CD on her desk. Well, it had a Cat in the Hat..well..hat on the cover of it, and I was entirely confused until I opened it up and the disk said Suessical the Musical on it. Immediately I knew this was the musical we were going to be doing for the next year, and I was really excited because I was the first to listen to it. After a few songs, the ”’lesson”’ - didn’t do much singing now, did I? - was over, and Ms. B came over and asked what I thought, and I was still really excited. Though, she made me promise not to tell anyone what we were doing, so I didn’t. I remember singing one of the songs all the time in the hallway or just randomly and all my friends would give me strange looks, since it’s a very unusual song selection, but also very well designed for creating this from Dr. Seuss. For those who still haven’t figured out what Seussical is, its many different stories from Dr. Seuss packed into one musical with a surprisingly good storyline. It includes stories from, The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, Gertrude McFuzz, Horton Hatches the Egg, Yertle the Turtle and other stories, I Had Trouble In Getting To Solla Sollew, McElligots Pool, and Oh The Thinks You Can Think!
Now in this Musical, there really aren’t any small parts, as every part is important in some way. Originally, I tried out just to be a Bird Girl. The Bird Girls are basically the narrators of the story, and are in quite a few scenes, and have to know how to dance and sing. So there I was, outside the auditorium, pacing, singing the song to myself over and over, and dreading when they would call my name. At that moment, they call it and I have to take that walk down that side aisle with all those teachers looking at me. Well, me being me, trip over my own two feet and fall flat on my face. This actually kinda helped get me nerves out, since I of course laughed at myself. I was actually calm and ready to audition. I sang my song well, I though, and then had to act like an animal. I think I was either a monkey, or a penguin…I can’t remember. So for the next week I was all excited wanting to know whether I got a part or not. So on the day the Call Backs were listed, I ran up to the sheet and started jumping around like a mad women. I had gotten a call back! But then I thought, ‘Why would they want to give call backs to Bird Girls? (For those who don’t know, a Call Back is when they think you did really good and you have a chance at a certain part. So they bring back people who they thought did really good to try out again.) So the next week, I stayed after school one day for call backs, wondering why I had been chosen. First, they did Call Backs for Horton, the elephant, even though most of us already knew who it was going to be. Same with the Cat in the Hat- we had known who was going to play that for ages. Next they did Gertrude McFuzz, and Jojo- the Mayors Son. (Obviously going in order for most important) After they had those auditions, they were doing Mayzie LaBird, who is too hard to explain. Well turns out I had gotten a call back for her! I hadn’t even auditioned for her and got a call back! Well I was really excited, but I really didn’t want a lead part. After I had auditioned again, they told some of us we could leave while others stay behind for more parts. I got to go home, and wait another few days for the cast list. As soon as the list was posted, I automatically ran up to it and almost fainted. I had gotten the part I really wanted, which was the Bird Girl, but I had also gotten the understudys understudy for Mayzie! That means that if both Mayzie and the Understudy can’t do a show or rehearsal, I had to! I was both excited and mad at the same time because I really didn’t want a lead, but was really happy I got the part I wanted.
This has definitely been the best musical ever. I got to spend a lot of time with my old friends, and some new ones. We all became such a close family over the last 5 months of hard work, that we were all in tears by the time the cast party was over on Sunday. None of us will ever forget such a great time we had, or all the great memories we shared, and this post goes out to the Seussical ‘08 Cast! <3
Think of nobody here
And the feeling of fear
And the darkness of night
Oooh Oooh…
All alone in your room
As you’re facing your doom
Think a glimmer of light!!
Aah Aah!
But I hope you’re prepared
To be scareder than scared!
‘Cause this ain’t mother goose!
When You Hear ‘US’…..
“”Contact a student from another country from our blogging buddies list. Leave a comment on their latest post asking them the what do they think of when they hear the words “United States.” What are some symbols they would use to represent the United States. In your post please include the address of the blog you left a comment on, and then include the answer when they reply.”"
I have contacted a student from New Zealand, Naveen, about what she thinks of when she hears the words ‘US’, or ‘America’. I jsut comment today, so I have not yet gotten a response, but I look forward to see what she has to say!
High School, You Should Try It!
That time is near, and its coming around the corner faster than you think. Don’t you remember just going in for 6th grade orientation? Now its time for 9th Grade orientation. Doesn’t matter which school you go to, the change is the same for everyone. New school, new friends, new teachers, new classes, new everything. Everything changes, whether you want it to or not.
For most of us, we’re probably going to the high school across the street, others might be going off to some foreign school in the middle of nowwhere, and some might be going across town. I remember ever since 5th grade I wanted to go to the school across the street, mainly because my sister went there. In 6th grade, my mother bought home one of those Magnet School booklets. I threw it right away, I didn’t want to go to one of those at all. Then this year comes, I get the booklet, and I actually read it. Before I new it i was at one of the orientations and my mum had called the school and set up a Shadow appoinment for me. I’m really not sure what to do. If I go to that Magnet School, I’ll be going into something I really love doing, but no one I know is going there. If I go the school across the street, I’ll be with all my friends be able to do the thing I love, and do a lot of other things they offer, but it wont be the same as actually learning about something you love. At the Magnet school, 1/4 of your day is dedicated to the field you go into. Thats pretty good. They still teach to core subjects, too, but you learn about a field you want to do. for me, I applied for the Acting field. The school is a Performance Arts school, and those who know me no I do nothing else but always something in the performance arts. I’m really into acting, and hope to take it further. It was a really hard desicion, though. You could onyl apply to one of the fields, and I was torn between acting and singing. Took me forever to decide to go for acting. I’m in love with both of the things, but I would still be able to sing in a chorus, just focus on acting. This High School is really great, and I’m glad I applied, but Im still nto sure if im going, if I even get in, that is. Thats the only thing Im scared about. Where am I going to go! If I dont get in, im deffinetly going to the school across from us…but theres this feeling inside that reallys wants me to get accepted into the Magnet School…
